Originally grown in the Rhone wine region of France, Roussanne is a primary component in the white wines of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Roussanne drinks very well as a young wine but will develop more complexity and depth if aged 7-8 years.
A spirited wine, with lush fruit notes of white peach and apricot bolstered by honeycomb and orange blossom. The palate is medium, with prominent structure and youthful acidity. The finish is laced with subtle spice and delicious flavors of lemon meringue and vanilla custard, ending in a mineral-driven, lengthy finale.
